history:

It is a sad but true fact that the grass is always greener on the other side. Prince Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor can attest to this fact as he was born into the royal line of the british monarchy. Thankfully he is not first in line; that dubious honour is reserved for his mother, his brother Phillip, and his sister Beatrice. He lost his father to pancreatic cancer four years ago which has changed his world in such impossible ways, then there is his sister who has her own coping mechanisms which run counterproductive to his own needs and affirmations. The only bright spots previous-to in his life has been 1. his best friend 'Pez', an escape into his books, and dreams of perhaps one day becoming a famous writer. Gods knows he cannot be himself to very many people in his own circle of influence.

After all, it's generally frowned upon to be a gay man in the line to succession. (especially with the british monarchy's entire stress on 'breeding' of any kind)

His life however changed upon the meeting of one Alex Clairmont-Diaz in which case his entire world turned topsy-turvy, and it all started with the "Cake Incident'; a diplomatic crisis involving both him and the First Son of the United States. They had to clean up that incident both literally and figuratively, leaving them with an unlikely and tentative alliance.

Henry has no real world-breaking abilities to show for. He cannot use magic, nor is his strength heightened by any means (he was not bit by a mutated spider and he certain was not involved in any rogue 'sugar, spice, and everything nice' explosions which could've possibly turned him into a Powerpuff Girl.) What he does possess however is keen diplomatic skills, the ability to ride a horse competantly, an understanding of such mysteries as how to work your way around a 17-piece Dinner Place-setting which was ingrained to him at a ridiculously young age.

His knowledge in Fencing and Polo could also be useful to the setting.

personality:

Ah, the juicy bits.

Blue eyes, blonde hair, a tall and athletic build, and a face that has been featured on the cover of magazines many a time. Take one look at Prince Henry and you see someone who has clearly been gifted by all of theoretical fairies that were present at his christening; however, there should always be balance and he did not escape scott-free with his own peculiarities. One of them being the weight of all of the expectations placed on him by the Monarchy as well as the general public. To quote Prince Henry's favorite author, "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

Except he does not want a wife, nor does he require a Princess to save.

His personality is not dependant upon the fact that he is gay, however that same weight of expectations has never given him the allowance nor the freedom to come out. And so he labours underneath a sense of anxiety and depression underneath that smooth and charming exterior-- he is highly medicated for both. And sleep? What even is that? He is a well-known insomniac because he overthinks 85 percent of the time, and those thoughts keep him up for largely the whole of the night. The loss of his father whom he adored did not help with the entire malady and he had an entire breakdown to his sister upon the death of their father; telling her that she can't kill herself partying and doing drugs because their father is dead, he's gay, and he doesn't know what to do.

Because of his own depression and anxiety; he has a very keen emotional empathy which allows to connect with others. He regularly volunteers at children's cancer hospitals because in his heart he remembers how he felt when his father died, and he wants to give back in some way shape or form, and he dreams of starting a humanitarian charity to help further the research into such matters to give others hope. In such a way does he evidence the nobility that a Prince should have, a fairy-tale prince wrapped in flaws and imperfections.

Also, he's exceedingly sharp and witty, able to verbally volley back everything that the fast-talking Alex Clairemont-Diaz hits his way. In the book their banter are some of my favorite parts; and I think that the complexities of his mind certainly comes into play when he is with Alex, because when he's in the same vicinity as Alex-- he has to mentally keep up with the American therefore the bad brain thoughts are temporarily pushed to the side.

Alex: "My NDA is bigger than yours, I just want you to know that."
Henry: "You’re wearing lifts. I know that too, sweetheart."

My hope for this game, is that I will be able to play a Henry that finally has a chance to heal; it will be good for him to be in a place where his title bears no meaning. And it will be a great opportunity for him to do some good within the multi-verse, and in a way where people will not be casting their expectations upon him. It is why I chose his username to be henryfox, drop the Prince-- for the time being he's 'just' Henry.
